Heya!
It's Darren again. The bakery team in Blackpool are working hard, and I'm sat in Liverpool dealing with all the social media's, calls, emails etc - plus the behind the scenes stuff and admin.
I know we are now starting to see light at the end of this bloody long tunnel, but I cant help getting a bit of cabin fever. I know we are all in the same boat, but I miss the little things like going in HMV and browsing the horror movies and getting confused if I have them or not before buying them... getting lost in H&M (don't tell RuPaul)... having a frigging date night with my other half! Honestly, the normality cannot come quick enough!
How am I coping? Well, I take out my frustration playing the game Dead by Daylight on my playstation. Its great for releasing some tension to be honest. If not that, I go and have a bimble in Home Bargains round the corner. Then get annoyed at myself when I walk out with £30 worth of snacks.
As well as that, bingeing telly programmes is another thing... So, what have I watched recently!?
Marcella
So, I watched the first two series' in their original run and loved them. Although, it caused my anxiety to peak because of Anna Friels portrayal of Marcella and her violent blackouts and then dealing with whatever case she is working on, plus an overbearing ex-husband and frankly, a pair of annoying children! The long awaited third series finally came to ITV at the start of February and I finally got round to watching it.
So, I enjoyed the third series. But, it seemed to get confusing to me. The ending of it left it with a lot of unanswered questions as well. Or I thought so anyway.

Behind Her Eyes
So, another thing I watched (this weekend actually) was Behind Her Eyes. A psychological drama thriller, based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Pinborough.
The story follows a psychologist who begins an affair with his secretary, who then befriends his wife. As you can imagine, drama ensues. It also brings in lucid dreaming and astral projection/travel to the mix as well.
Now, in my personal opinion, I'm not 100% sure I fully believe in the whole lucid dreaming/astral projection stuff... so the ending did seem quite far-fetched for me. That being said, it was still enjoyable. It was tense. Confusing. Generally entertaining. I just found the ending a bit "daft". By all means however, don't go off my views. Go give it a watch. The whole series is available to stream now on Netflix.
RuPauls Drag Race UK: Series 2
At the moment, during this lockdown, this is literally the highlight of my week. It's good easy watching. Frankly, I think it's miles better than the original US version and if Bimini, Tayce and/or Lawrence Cheney don't make it to the final, I will be summoning an eternal winter.
Think of Next Top Model. But with drag queens. Facing challenges each week to determine which is the UK's next drag superstar.
It's pure easy watching, hilarious telly. Just what is needed to escape from the news and doom and gloom. The first series, plus the latest episodes of series 2 are available to watch on BBC iPlayer, plus new episodes each Thursday at 7pm.

So, that's that. A little shop talk now cause you know... rules is rules...
We have changed now how we are selling vegan items online. We are now doing this once a week. They are made available on Wednesday morning until the next afternoon around 4:30pm/5:00pm. The vegan postals are then dispatched the same Friday. Local Delivery vegan goodies are delivered on the Saturday evening slot between 6pm and 9pm.
We have also decided to suspend taking orders on layer cakes for the time being. The bakery team are working on a selection that will just be able to be ordered for local delivery in the online shop. So, keep an eye out for that on our social media accounts.
Finally!!! We can announce now, that as the kids are going back to school on the 8th March, we are going to re-open the counter to the public from Wednesday 10th March!! We are all so excited about this and cant wait to have you all back in. Plus, the long awaited return of the Dough Bar!!
